Dr. Richard Peter Gordon Gregory BSc (Hons), Ph.D, CBiol, MIBiol

Dr. Peter Gregory holds a BSc (Hons) degree in General Science covering areas of Botany, Chemistry, Geology and Zoology.  His research degree was in the area of Botany/Chemistry and subsequently obtained the Institute of Biology qualifications CBiol and MIBiol.  His Ph.D was obtained at University College of North Wales in 1964.

Peter has over 40 years experience in Forensic Science beginning his career at Home Office Forensic Science Service, starting at the Preston Laboratory in 1964 until 1971, moving to the Chorley Laboratory until 1973, the Newcastle Laboratory until 1977 and continued at the Wetherby Laboratory until retirement at age 60 from the Home Office Forensic Science Service. 1998.  Throughout his working career for the Home Office, aswell as holding the position of Case Reporting Officer, he was Head of Biology Division and Team leader for the Serious Crime Team.

Since his retirement in 1998, Peter has worked for Formedecon Ltd.  His areas of expertise include body fluids, blood, semen and saliva and trace materials such as fibres and hairs.  He has, over the years, been involved in examining a range of casework items mostly in offences against the person cases.  He has attended Laboratories, Police Stations and crime scenes hundreds of time, taken evidence, considered findings, written statements and reports and giving evidence in Courts all over the World.
