Dr. Wendy Clochet

Dr. Wendy Clochet joined the Formedecon in 2013 as Senior Consultant Counselling Psychologist and has progressed as the head of our Forensic Psychology Division Dr. Clochet has an extensive background on Criminal and Forensic Psychology and has  the following qualifications: Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Diploma in Counselling Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology as well as completing formal training in the provision of expert witness reports. Dr Clochet is HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and an Accredited Drug and Alcohol Professional. Dr. Clochet is currently working towards a Masters in Forensic Psychology which is expected to be completed in June 2016.

Dr. Clochet is currently employed as an Applied Psychologist for the NHS within an Affective Disorders Service where she work with clients who have a wide range of complex mental health difficulties. Historically, Dr. Clochet has worked as a Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Therapist working on a daily basis with individuals who are experiencing anxiety related disorders, depression and various other mental health problems.

Since 2006, prior to gaining full time employment as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and subsequently as an Applied Psychologist, Dr Clochet has worked several different roles. These roles have included working within a youth service setting as a Drug and Alcohol Outreach worker, as a Support Worker in various hostels in both Middlesbrough and Stockton for both young people and adults, a Support Worker with young carers in Redcar. Whilst completing her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and up until April 2014 when, unfortunately, the funding ran out Dr Clochet worked part time as an Arrest Referral worker within Middlesbrough, Stockton and Hartlepool Police Custody Suites. In addition, Dr. Clochet has experience of working in various therapeutic services namely; domestic violence, bereavement, psychodynamic and arrest referral with a wide variety of clients.
